Vermont Plank Flooring, a custom-wide plank flooring manufacturer, seeks lumber handlers to join its growing team. Vermont Plank Flooring produces custom-made-to-order wide plank floors in a variety of domestic species and both solid and engineered plank structures. The company has a 30-year history of woodworking excellence. Based in Brattleboro, Vermont, its products are shipped all over the country and the world.
Position Summary
This full-time role based in our Brattleboro, VT mill, will be part of our core Production Team, and reporting to our Head of Production.
Our shift runs from 6 AM - 3 PM, Monday - Friday. Voluntary overtime is available.
Responsibilities:
The core Production Team is responsible for a range of stations throughout our single-batch-style production process. From ripping and pre-planing the rough-cut planks, to defecting, molding, and end-matching the final product -- quality control checks, measuring, fit-testing, and record-keeping are involved in every step.
We are hiring immediately for this position.
Qualifications:
- Motivated and **reliable**
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Lift at least 30 lbs
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks
- Applicants will need to be able to stack lumber and package flooring, move around frequently and learn all jobs in manufacturing.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
